I came here and had a very positive experience. I had driven close to 400 miles straight from NYC on my way to Cleveland and stopped here along the way. The service was very good and extremely friendly from the waitresses up to the managers. I was interested in items at the Dutch pantry store and the staff seemed knowledgable and helpful. Very similar to a Cracker Barrel but more personalised. I ordered a lunch special of grilled chicken salad with a cup of ham and beans soup. I also bought some jars of jelly on the way out as well as a bar of home made soap. Everything wAs excellent. For some reason I won't forget the coffee. The coffee was the best part.

Passing through and found this little gem. Had breakfast some of the best biscuits and gravy I've had in a long time. Wife had the apple cinnamon and French toast w/sausage which she enjoyed very much. Prices were reasonable, service was excellent and the food was definitely worth the stop. Recommend to weary travelers!

I had the Dutch Country omelet (ham, home fries, red onions, and cheese), which came with 2 buttermilk biscuits, a strawberry parfait, and an AMAZING APPLE FRITTER oh myyy. Boyfriend got a special of eggs, ham steak, home fries, and biscuits. We sat at the counter and were highly entertained by the various taxidermy projects all over the walls. The staff was friendly and good came quickly. Definitely want to come back.

Stopped on the way to Columbus. Pleasant experience, friendly service with KLOVE playing in the background. Cobb salad came with grated cheese otherwise it was good. Grilled chicken salad with chunks of chicken, fried onions and Peppers, topped with French fries and melted cheese. Tasted ok but a different kind of grilled chicken salad for sure.

I think this place is everything you want in a road trip lunch stop. It's not fast food, but it's quick. We got the meatloaf and the Reuben sandwich-they were both excellent. The meatloaf comes with sides- we got the coleslaw and mashed potatoes. They weren't great, but it's still worth the stop. There's not much else off the highway around there.

Charming place!! There's a little country store in the front and little booths in the dining area. The server was SO kind and joyful and very respectful. Coming from NY we'd driven for quite some time already and we were tired and hungry! The waitress was so pleasant to us and the food was delightful. I'm a vegetarian so I ordered a cobb salad, baked potato, and corn nuggets. The Egg, Potato, and Corn tasted really FRESH! The nuggets were tiny but so yummy. We also got a little dessert which was nothing less than delicious, as expected from this cute country restaurant! I hope everyone gets off the highway to try Dutch Pantry's wonderful service and environment. It's got a local feel in a busy industrialized off-highway area.

I stopped in on my way to Pittsburgh and got there right at opening. Fast friendly service. My eggs, bacon and hashbrowns were delicious. My coffee never got cold. I highly recommend stopping here for any meal. I only wish I had room for an Apple dumpling.

Stopped here for lunch while travelling. This place is a gem. Service was fast and friendly. I ordered the pot roast, it was so tender and flavorful, my tastebuds felt like they were having a party. Great place! I wish we had a chain like this back home, I'd be eating here every day.

Better than fast food, but not much. Iceburg lettuce and overcooked rice, ok burgers and decent pasta. I asked if the whipped cream on the desserts was real and they said yes, but it tastes like Cool Whip to me. Not as cheap as others said. Family meal for six with dessert cost us $70. No other place to eat in this area that's either better or worse.

We stopped here on a road trip to see the amazing decorations. A must stop on a road trip. They have an entire store of old school candy. The decor is great. We were not hungry but the portions looked huge. I want to eat there next time.

BJ really wanted to eat here. He really knows how to pick a fun restaurant! This place cracks me up! The exterior is bright and cheery. The interior design is very kitschy and country tack. I suspect, except for the vegan items, the menu hasn't changed much in 80+ years of business. Neither has the interior. I suspect the majority of the clientele are local folks. Service was quick and friendly. BJ got the big fish special. I got the turkey sandwich on a croissant with melted cheese and bacon. Not the best food I have ever eaten. But they get extra stars for quirkiness and longevity.

For the love of God, if you are driving 1-80 STOP HERE to eat. This is the ish that yelper dreams are made of. LOOK at the exterior photo. Who in their right mind would EVER choose a Mickey D's (or worse) breakfast over this joint when cruising the neverending story that is 1-80? Sincere and hallowed props to Ivan S and Jim T for reviewing this Dutch gem in the PA heartland. I'd likely have never found it. First off, I'm not sure when this place originated...but from that day I'm going to guess that not a whole lot has changed. I did a bit of research and this location (along with the one in Clearfield) are the ONLY two living Dutch Pantries left in PA. Decor is dated, but so dated that its back to cool. Cute little gift shop and every table has an IQ game and a little pamphlet talking about advertisements from yesteryear. I now know a lot about things going on in 1928. Secondly, the placemat is actually a menu for a bunch of desserts. My kind of people. Apple fritters, bread pudding, strawberry shortcake. For breakfast!? Sure why not, if you want it, its yours. Third, we came here on a Steelers Sunday and everyone was dressed appropriately. There is no confusion who the loyalty is towards, if anyone was wondering. Ain't no Tebow on the menu, though I understand they lost...I still had a good meal. Our waitress had coffee in my cup as I pulled into the parking lot I'm pretty sure. She was good like that. From start to finish she was at or near our table whenever we needed anything and we were in and out in under 30 minutes, surely. For the love of God, if you are driving 1-80 STOP HERE. The food won't knock your socks off, but it won't kill you either. I had the veggie omelette and it was standard, but they threw in some sort of donut (of course, what else to go with the only remotely healthy thing on the menu?) so cheers to that! They have a huge menu of downhome favorites and PA Dutch treats, breakfast all day and enough desserts to please just about anyone with any sort of sweet tooth. Its all cooked fresh, served lovingly and you'll be supporting the Dutch Pantry. Stop here. Rest. Drink some soda or coffee, fill your tummy and get back on the road...because you probably aren't here to see the sites.

I've just finished laughing out loud at another reviewer's 5-star RAVE review of this place... "For the love of God, if you are driving 1-80 STOP HERE to eat." Who then follows up with... "The food won't knock your socks off, but it won't kill you either." Sounds like someone's a bit confused. Anyhoo, we stopped here in the middle of a road trip for lunch based on some of these rave reviews, but found Stuart L's two-star review to be far more accurate. The bulk of the food here is obviously institutional (i.e. not "home made"), and can be described as decent at best. We tried the meatloaf sandwich, a grilled cheese, an open-faced turkey sandwich and shoo fly pie. All were good, but certainly nothing to RAVE about. This is solid, hearty mid-western diner fare - nothing more, nothing less. The service was fast and extremely friendly which gets them an extra half star. The dining room and restrooms were kept reasonably clean. We'd recommend this place over any fast food joint, but just don't come here expecting to experience "the ish Yelper dreams are made of".

Mediocre food. Convenient and easy on and off of I 80. Over- cooked meat and canned veggies. Iceberg lettuce salad. Didn't stay for dessert. Decor is as noted in other reviews. Better than fast food, just barely.

This is one of those fun places you see while driving on the expressway going from A to B. The food is a little better than average and there are all these Amish type Tchotchke's all over the place. Its got that country Americana feel... something you'd see on the travel channel.

Cute country type atmosphere . Quick service for lunch. Simple menu . Had the turkey bacon melted cheese croissant sandwich . Tasty ...better option then fast food at that exit.

The other reviews are very misleading. While our waitress was very nice, our food tasted like it was from a box or a nursing home cafeteria.

Great food and friendly service. Traveled from Seattle to New York, and definitely the best restaurant on the trip thus far!

I ate breakfast here and it was really good! I had the country breakfast which included biscuits and sausage gravy as well as eggs and home fries. I love the home cooked Dutch inspired meals and the decor in the restaurant. They also have a cute little gift shop and pies for sale at the counter. Prices are also pretty reasonable.

If you've missed grandma's home cooking lately, you need to make a stop at this joint along I-80. The service is friendly and fast, the food is nostalgic, and the decor is old school americana. Make sure you save room for dessert - it's even better than the food.

We were on the way home driving on I80, and we saw all the positive reviews for this restaurant. We decided that, we pretty much had to. Then we got our food... The place is pretty much your average road side chain restaurant. The food was just bland, barely edible. I was just happy to get the ice cream to wash out the taste of awful. The other reviews must have all been employees trying to beef up the place. I mean, grandma's cooking, home cooked meals...really?!?! If my grandmother cooked like that, I'd put her in a home (not really, I'm not a monster). Don't think I'll be back anytime..ever.
